How to schedule a Google Hangout meeting?

The latter holds quite a substantial advantage in that it is super-simple, and requires just two working brain cells to set up!

Google Hangout makes it really easy to connect with one or multiple individuals and set up video conference calls. There are both free and paid versions of this service, with both offering differing levels of effectiveness.

Google Hangouts is available via an app for mobile devices. It can also be accessed over the web on desktops and laptops. 

To set up a Hangout on PC or mobile, it is necessary to plan and put down an event on your Google Calendar. When that is done, you can then invite folks to your hangout. They will get a mail asking them to attend and the opportunity of either accepting or rejecting the invite. 

Using Google Hangout, you can hold meetings with your team, regardless of if they are adrift on an arctic floe. More, the simple nature of it all means you don’t have to share meeting links, passwords, and related info with those you wish to invite, like on Zoom.

Now, here are the steps to scheduling a Google Hangout on PC using Google Calendar:

Step 1: Open your favorite browser and log into your Google/Gmail account on your PC.

Step 2: Click on the Google Calendar icon towards your right as highlighted in the image below.

Step 3: Click the “Open in new tab” button to enter the full-screen mode so you can better see what you are doing. If you do not have a Gmail account, you can alternatively directly open Google Calendar on your browser and log in with your Google account.

Step 4: At the top left corner of the screen is a “Create” tab. Click on this for all you are worth and input a new event on the calendar.

Step 5: Be sure to add meeting details like the time the meeting will hold, the meeting date, and the title.

Step 6: Tap the “Add location or conferencing” section and the “ Add Conferencing” field. This will activate Hangouts.

Step 7: See the “Add Guests” field? Here is where you need to input the contact details and email addresses of everyone you intend to invite to your Hangout.

Step 8: Once you have filled in every necessary field click the “Save” button. This saves every input you made and will send out your invites.

How to Modify the Event or Add More Guests?

Once the above steps have been completed, you can at any time modify the event or add more attendees while the Hangouts is yet to hold send out more invites. This is accomplished by tapping the scheduled event in Google Calendar and then inputting the email or contact details of folks you wish to extend invites under the “Guests” tab. Once done you can click on “ Save”.

How to Cancel an Invite?

If for some reason you want to cancel an invite, you can go back, hover a cursor over the name or details of the person you wish to disinvite, and tap the X sign that appears. Once done tap the Save button and off you go. When an invite is canceled you can opt to send a mail that details the reason.

To set up a meeting on Google Hangouts on mobile the following steps are necessary:

Step 1: Download the Google Calendar app and install it.

Step 2: Sign in with your preferred Google Account. Once signed in you can access a calendar, set event reminders, and lots more.

Step 3: You should click the “Create” tab. From there select “Events” and fill out all necessary details, and the contact info of the guests.

Step 4: Be sure to click the Add Location, Conferencing, and Invite People options and then tap the Save button at the top right corner of the page.
